| Empyrean
Records was originally formed as an imprint of the WishingTree
Records Group in the late 90’s by music enthusiasts David
Silva and Kyle Thompson. Based in Rhode Island, with a satellite
office in Chicago, IL, the label’s focus is to share the
music they love with people who love music. The ever-expanding
Wishing Tree Records Group now houses two independent record
labels, Track Star Media (a retail marketing and publicity firm
specializing in arts and entertainment), and has major international
retail distribution through Secretly Canadian and ADA (Alternative
Distribution Alliance). The label group has collectively released
albums from Eric Matthews, Pinetop Seven, Silver Sunshine, The
Moles, The Aluminum Group, Super Furry Animals, as well as a
charity compilation series featuring exclusive tracks from Elliott
Smith, Wheat, Death Cab for Cutie, Wilco, Bright Eyes, Spoon,
and Elf Power, among many others. |
